14 June 2019 marks the fifth anniversary of Medicine Boy’s first live show and they’ve got some things to share.
The Dream Noise duo will be touring Europe and the UK this Summer starting in their home country, Germany and ending with the mighty Fuzz Club Eindhoven in the Netherlands.

August will also see the first-ever vinyl release of More Knives, the band’s debut EP, via Permanent Record (ZA).
The EP’s six tracks were recorded in 2014 at the beautiful Sunset Studios in Stellenbosch. The recording took only two days and is a testament to a band in fledgling phase – wide-eyed, inspired and a bit naïve:
“There is a recklessness to the playing and production that is so distinctive to that time in our lives. We had just started the band and were determined to get something out as soon as possible. We tried not to have too many preconceived ideas around what we should sound like and didn’t leave ourselves the time or space to overthink what we were making, it just sort of came out the way it wanted to and we’re still very proud of it.”
More Knives reveals the beginnings of the duo’s approach to sound and song – the feedback, the primal pounding and the open spaces, all drifting and drowning behind Lucy and Andre’s dual vocals.
Accompanying the original six tracks are Blues Roses (originally a hidden track and the first song MB ever recorded) and the spaced-out gutter gospel song, I Miss Sleeping So Much, recorded in 2015.
Watch a live performance of the title track recorded by the band in their Berlin rehearsal studio, directed by their long time friend and collaborator, Mark Reitz.
